L3 Histoire - Enseignement et Sciences Pluridisciplinaires
The History degree combines a solid general education in history (and related disciplines) with more specific training ("courses") tailored to each student's career plans. The knowledge and skills acquired prepare students for professional life.
The skills developed within the diploma are as follows: Acquisition of sound knowledge, methods of analysis and interpretation, mastery of tools, ability to synthesize.
In addition to history and geography, students are offered courses to strengthen their subject knowledge in French, mathematics, science, PE and numeracy. The aim is to enable students to enter a first-level MEEF master's degree programme with a solid foundation in a variety of subjects. Students will take part in two observation internships, in the first and second semesters.
The History degree requires a good disciplinary knowledge, a taste for reading all types of sources (texts, images, archaeology, monuments, etc.) and a mastery of writing, working and reasoning methods. Rigor is also a prerequisite for historical criticism and the methodology specific to history. Curiosity about foreign cultures is a plus. Last but not least, a high level of motivation, backed up by a career plan in line with the course requirements, will be a key selection criterion.
For entry into third year, validation of a second year in generalist humanities degree with optional history courses is strongly recommended.
Students will take part in an observation internship in each of the two semesters, once in a nursery school and once in a primary school. They will write a report on each internship.
